Paul D. Slan
Paul D. Slan

If you want experience on your side, Paul is your man. He has been practicing family law since 1977. Besides his L.L.B, he earned an Honours B.A. in Political Science and Economics. He is a former Chair of the Family Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association and has been an instructor of a Bar Admission Course in family law. Are you impressed yet? Well, if that doesn’t do it, maybe this will: He has been a Dispute Resolution Officer with the Superior Court of Justice, he is also a Certified Mediator and Arbitrator. (In other words, he knows what he’s doing!)

If that isn’t enough for you (which seems impossible), Paul has also been a panel lawyer representing children for the Office of the Children’s Lawyer. His reverence for children is expressed at home, too, as the father of three children and also the grandfather of three.

Paul’s professional life may sound busy enough, but he doesn’t believe in slowing down or resting on his laurels. He’s a marathon runner who has run in Toronto, Ottawa, and Las Vegas. Next year, he will run in the famed New York Marathon and is looking forward to hearing the cheering crowds that turn up for it. He trains for 18 weeks for these runs and gets motivation from the great group at the Running Room. Paul is also a bicyclist who actually enjoys working out at the gym. What’s on his “bucket list”? Qualifying to run in the Boston Marathon this time. (How’s that for a “grandfather”?)

When people talk about Paul’s skills as a family lawyer, they say he gets directly to the issues and deals with them efficiently. Now, that’s the kind of person you want representing you.
