- Professionally trained on issues of narcissism and narcissistic abuse
Anmol has always been proactive in helping people in their times of need. She blissfully chose the field of family law because it gives her a sense of contentment and distinct happiness to help her clients walk through one of the most challenging moments of their lives and provide a kickstart to their new journey ahead.
Prior to joining Gelman & Associates, Anmol worked at a boutique law firm where her primary field of practice was Family Law, but she also had exposure to the practice of Real Estate, Immigration, and Corporate Law. Anmol also has a background in Arbitration and Mediation, which has equipped her to gear her approach toward settlement.
Anmol obtained her Master of Laws from Osgoode Hall School, York University, at the top of her class and achieved first class with distinction in her first law degree. Anmol always believes that there is no shortcut to hard work, and this guiding principle is also well reflected in her current practice in Family Law.
Anmol has excellent client care skills. Her former clients would find her personable and approachable. But don’t be fooled by her friendly personality; she is fearless and zealous in getting the best possible outcome for her clients.
She has experience in dealing with narcissistic spouses and is empathetic to the needs of such clients. She has appeared in high conflict cases of domestic abuse, substance abuse, and parental alienation and has dealt with CAS, OCL, Crown Attorney, Mental Health Counsellors, and Victim Services.
Having an academic specialization in Corporate and Business Laws, Anmol has skillfully unraveled complicated financial cases involving assets abroad and untangled self-employed individuals’ income hidden through complex business structures in her family law matters.
Anmol also has a reported decision of Coates v. Dickson,2021 ONSC 992, which was a highly contested matter for possession of two pets in a separation. Anmol avidly argued and successfully split the dogs and ensured that her client rightfully received possession of one dog. This case law has now become a precedent for determining pets’ ownership during a separation in Ontario.
When Anmol is not at work, you will find her either volunteering at a local animal shelter or exploring and hiking in Ontario Parks to add a few more stamps to her Ontario Parks Passport. She also loves to spend time with her family and explore local restaurants to try different cuisines.
Anmol has multilingual proficiency in Hindi, Punjab, Urdu, and Bengali and has immense respect for different cultural values.
