Articling Student
Brooklyn began her career at Gelman & Associates in 2020 and returned to the firm to complete her articling after graduating from law school.
She earned her law degree from the University of Birmingham, graduating at the top of her class. During her time there, she led the University’s Pro Bono Clinic, offering free family law advice to members of the public. Her dissertation, Regulating Surrogacy Payments in England: Ethical and Legal Issues, supervised by Professor Jean McHale, was published following her graduation.
Brooklyn also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Guelph, where she graduated with honours. In her final year, she presented a capstone thesis to researchers in Philosophy and Health Law across Canada.
Throughout law school, Brooklyn remained actively engaged in community advocacy. She campaigned for improved access to government-funded fertility treatments and received formal training in counselling and listening skills, which she applied while leading group therapy sessions for individuals navigating infertility.
Outside of her legal work, Brooklyn enjoys reading, following pop-culture legal cases and spending time with her dog. She is also a devoted Formula 1 fan—most of her Sundays are spent trackside (at least virtually).
